WHAT IS GRANDPARENTAL ALIENATION?

Grandparental Alienation is often the tragic result of alienated children that will keep their children away from loving grandparents. I cannot imagine anything more tragic than for a person to reach their golden years, and all the anticipation of the rewards from a lifetime of giving, only to have them dashed by grandchildren they cannot connect to.
The pull and love to these children is at the center of the hearts of their loving grandparents. Their pictures hang on their walls, fill their albums, and today their smartphones as well. Yet, they cannot see them, chat with them or hold them.
I was pained to learn that not always are grandchildren alienated from grandparents by the ex of the grandparent’s child. Today with an entire network of therapists, social workers, and judges in the picture of what’s best for the child, the love of the grandparent is often overlooked or misinterpreted and the opportunity for pure love for the child is lost.
I have learned that there is a huge network called AGA for alienated grandparents. You may wish to check out their website at: http://www.aga-fl.org/.
